Club Reports

Round seven for the Scottish Twinshock Scramble Club took them to Scotlands Tinto Moto Parc in deepest South Lanarkshire last weekend.

In the antique Pre 77 class it was Alan Adair with the overall result from John Fullarton and Dunoon man Grant McClure in third.

The big guns in the Fourstroke class made good use of their large horsepower motors.

Mark Kenny made a welcome return to racing and put his HPF Honda on the top step of the podium with three emphatic wins.

Sy Grieg filled the runner up spot on from Ricky Caldwell.

The Over 50s initially looked like it was going to be a battle between Davie Pullar and Jim Grieve to see who was top dog.

Although while negotiating the downhill step Pullar was thrown from his Honda and took no further part in the day's proceedings.

This left the door open for Grieve to seal the overall win from Stewart Thomson and Keith Birse.

Alex Joiner took maximum points in the Twinshock Under 300cc class with three leg wins on his very quick CR Honda.

Mike VanDerMerWe was never far from Joiners rear wheel for runner up from Graham Miller on the antique Husqvarna.

In the Twinshock Open class the racing was of the highest order as battle commenced between Paul Chiappa, Tony Caig, Gordon Morrison, and Calum Baird.

In race two there was nothing between the front four as they set off with Chiappa eventually enjoying a healthy lead, although an unplanned off track excursion saw Chiappa drop down the pecking order.

And just to compound his frustration when he eventually got his big Maico re-started the race was stopped due to a racing accident which left him unable to build any sort of challenge for recovering race positions. Fittingly the overall win went to Tony Caig.

Chiappa settled for the runner-up spot with Robert Smith Jnr third.

The dusty conditions never seemed to faze the Evo riders as they kicked up some superb roosters.

Brian Alexander was on the case from the drop of the gate in the first moto to the chequered flag after leg three.

Matthew Harper put in a dogged shift over the three motos although the second place spot was still just rewards for his heroic efforts on the day. Paul Benham third overall.

In the Pre 1990 Evolution 125 class Kieran Smart was once again on it from the word go with three wins from three race starts on his very quick CR Honda.

William Penrice tried hard to see through the now thickening dust clouds although second place would still make him more than happy considering the current track conditions.

At the final whistle Gordon Peterson took  third place from Johnathan Young.

The ever popular Two-Stroke Open Class saw another superb turn-out of riders.

Bryan Colligan was the man to beat and showed the chasing part a clean pair of heels over most of the three legs.

Andrew White put in a sterling fight for the runner up position with Shaun Renniein third.

As the Mono-shock riders left the start-line and turned into turn one, spectators eagerly waiting to see who would emerge from the dust cloud in front at turn two of the race..

As it turned out the three legs saw a superb battle between Alan Shields and DeeJay Bruce. There was absolutely nothing to separate these two riders on the day as both had their share of leading from the front.

The overall win eventually went to Shields with DeeJay Bruce second and Des Halewood in third.
