By TMX Archives on 6th May 09

AS the final few days of preparations take place in order to welcome the trials world to Nord Vue, near Carlisle, Cumbria, next weekend, May 16/17, for rounds four and five of the Lloyd SPEA FIM World Trials Championship, the DirtBike-Traxs organising team have created a trials spectacle within the Nord Vue quarry area, near Carlisle, Cumbria, writes promoter John Kirwin. Will Graham Jarvis' spectacular and challenging section eight, named The Altar', make sacrificial lambs out of the world stars or will the young Brit pack shine? Can Dougie Lampkin make that final last stand on what is certainly his last World Trial GP on English soil?
Seeing is believing, and you will certainly be able to see the organising team have gone to great lengths to construct raised viewing areas out of the quarry floor around the sections.
For those present who might like to take a more leisurely approach to spectating then the giant TV screen in the bar/ food area will provide a haven as the images are beamed back.
Experienced and knowledgeable MC, Wayne Kershaw will provide up-to-date commentary and interviews as he walks the sections.
Despite its northerly position, the venue is only three-hours 15-minutes from Birmingham, making it easily accessible in a day without the need for overnight accommodation, if you just want to see one day's action.
For those that would like to savour the atmosphere of the full weekend's world trials activity, there's a camp site within the venue containing a bar with evening entertainment, showers and toilets only a short walk from the trials action.
The sandstone quarry provides a mud-free zone so no matter what the weather throws at the event, spectators will not trail around in mud.
With the factory trucks and competitors arriving next Thursday the stage is all set. Be part of the occasion gates open at 7am, the venue is only minutes off the M6 and will be signed from junctions 41 and 42
