A Grand day out at Rochdale
By TMX Archives on 6th May 09

AFTER two hugely successful opening rounds to its 2009 series, the rideoffroaduk team is gearing up for round three the Lancs Grand National Hare and Hounds at a new venue, near Rochdale, on May 17. The new venue, known as Lee Dell, is stunning and has all the ingredients needed for a cracking Hare and Hounds event.
The course will be made up of a woodland section with the addition of lots of open going and it will link together with firm tracks and trails around the 260-acre site. The paddock area will overlook the whole course so, for anyone planning to attend as a spectator, it will only be a short walk to view all the action.
Sportsmen will once again have their own race, starting from 10am until 12 noon. After a short break for marshals to tweak the course, the Sportsman class presentation will take place at 12.30pm. This will be followed by the main event for Expert, Over 40 and Clubman classes, which will kick off at 1pm for 2.5 hours.
Entries for Rochdale are coming in thick and fast, so if you plan to ride with us please send your entry form sooner rather than later. The Rochdale event may reach its 150-rider limit before the closing date.
With a very short ten-day gap after Rochdale, riders should note that entries are also open for Butts Quarry two weeks later, on May 31.
Regs are available on the events page of the website – www.rideoffroaduk.co.uk – or call Wayne Braybrook on 07802-572023.
