THE fifth round of the Quad Magazine John Elliot SMX Winter Series was held at the SMX's Horsham track on Sunday.

After previous attempts to hold the round were thwarted by the weather, perseverance was finally rewarded with a perfect day's racing.
The track had a perfect ‘apple crumble' topping meaning that, for once, most riders and their machines stayed clean, with neither dust, nor mud, affecting conditions.
Chris North made a clean sweep with three race wins in the Pro class. Rob Hanks continued to show his good form this season by taking two seconds and a fourth, and it was a good day too for the youngsters. Ben Harman, on the Quad Magazine entered Can Am, got two thirds and a fifth, a creditable result for both the young rider and the machine, while Sheldon Seal got a second in race one and Tom Calloway made fourth in race three.
In the Support class, the Dennis brothers both had good results. Barry Dennis took two wins whilst
brother Rodney had two thirds and a fourth place. Richard Horton got the win in the first race and second in races two and three.
The Stock class was again won by Denvil Hopkin. Second and third place went to Adam Judge and John Jordan.
All results are provisional and championship points will be available at the next round at Pale Lane on February 3.
