Allingham takes all at Low Gelt!

EDWARD Allingham continued the Celtic domination of the 2008 Maxxis British Moto-cross Championship as he swept to the MXY2 national title at Brampton on Sunday, as the fourth and final round of the showcase Youth series played out at the famous Cumbrian circuit. After fighting back into contention for the title at the previous round at Foxhill, the PAR Honda rider came out victorious in an opening moto battle with overall winner on the day, James Hutchinson, then overcame a fall in the second heat to register a fighting fifth place and claim the title by a 12-point margin from Team Green's Josh Waterman who registered second overall on the day.
Although Sam Davis still had a mathematical shot at the title, barring any serious misfortune the title realistically was only going home in the hands of either Allingham or Waterman and after assuming the title lead with a dominant display at the previous round, Allingham was the man to beat.
He set his stall out early to top qualifying by over a second from Hutchinson and Joe Gregory, with Waterman over four seconds off the pace in ninth, and from the drop of the gate in moto one the race was all about Hutchinson and Allingham.
