Anderson's geared-up for a Foxhill challenge

THOSE famous valley sides at Foxhill rumble to the sound of top flight motocross championship action again this weekend as the Wullfsport British Masters Series pays a visit to the hallowed GP venue for the fourth and penultimate round of its 2007 campaign.
After a brace of wet rounds at Dean Moor and Hawkstone over the past two months the hardworking British Master team will be hoping for kinder weather at the hard-packed Wiltshire venue, but the long range forecast doesn't look too promising and it could be another wet one, which at the notoriously poorly draining Foxhill could mean riders are in for yet another day of mud plugging.
Hopefully the weather will hold, however, and the weekend's action will be hot right from the Pro classes down to the Youth brigade.
Taking top billing at Foxhill will be Pioneer Yamaha's Brad Anderson who will be out to extend his championship lead after taking a convincing double victory in the heavy going at Hawkstone.
Foxhill's chalk slopes provide a completely different challenge for Brad, but he has proved time and again this season he can ride hard and fast on any surface and will again be the rider to beat in the Pro Open class.
Leading the charge to halt Anderson in his tracks will be Albion KTM's Jordan Rose and PAR Honda's Neville Bradshaw. Both have been in good form of late and have noticeably improved their speed and could put up a serious threat to Anderson for the win. Bradshaw's GP experience at the similarly hard-pack Faenza track last week will come in handy at Foxhill too, although not if the track is the skid-pad the weather is threatening to turn it into.
Other riders to look out for will be Bradshaw's PAR stable mate Wayne Smith, the Twisted7 Kawasaki pairing of Richard Lawson and Bryan MacKenzie, Danny and Jody Smyth and Glen Phillips.
The Pro 125cc class are chasing the flamboyant tail of PAR Honda youngster Ashley Greedy in the championship chases currently and the young Welshman will be in no mood to relinquish his championship lead as he goes for his first adult title.
The technical Foxhill terrain will suit Greedy's silky smooth style and expect to see him up around the sharp end of things on Sunday afternoon.
The cast of characters who have challenged Greedy all season have largely been one one-off rides in the championship, but the likes of Kristian Whatley, Luke Remmer, Joe Dark and Alex Butler will be determined to keep Greedy in check and there is also the chance of the odd wild-card or two showing up to put a spanner among the works also.
Action also comes on Saturday and Sunday from the Amateur Open and Amateur 125cc classes, where championship points are close and some of the seasons best racing has taken place so far, and of course the four Youth classes.
Action on both days starts at 9am with practice and qualifying sessions, and 15 for the weekend or 10 for Sunday.
