Bou continues WTC domination
By TMX Archives on 6th Jul 07

TONI Bou continued his march towards his first SPEA World Trials Championship with a win in the Italian round, staged around the northern mountain town of Erba.
The Repsol Montesa star held-off arch-rival and reigning champ Adam Raga (Gas Gas) and now holds a handy 17 point Championship lead with five rounds still to go. Former champ Takahisa Fujinami made it two Repsol Monts on the podium in third place with Britain's Dougie Lampkin a distant fourth.
The trial, two laps of 15 sections, the last two staged Indoors at the finish, was staged in the mainly dry river-beds, which did contain some water, but most of the marks were lost on the loose, earth bankings that comprised many section exits.
The course length was such it was a full five miles uphill to the opening group of seven sections that an extra hour was added to the time limit.
