United Motocross, known as the UMX Championship, is now in its eighth season.

This year the series had to be cut from eight rounds to six due to unforeseen circumstances, but nonetheless produced an exciting finale for the Sidecar class, with neither the Expert nor Junior titles clear cut before the final round.

Winchester MCC hosted the final round at Owslebury with 22 crews present – a pretty good turn-out for the end of the season!

The only downer on the day was when Stephen Parr and Jonnie Waters crashed, leaving Stephen with a broken femur. Get well soon Stephen!

With only 14-points separating the top three in the Expert class, there was everything to race for.

Defending champions, Andy and Tim Breacher were sitting in third place going into the event and things began to look good as the Expert wins were taken by Scott Wilkinson and stand-in passenger, Josh Chamberlain, who had only contested two rounds of the series prior to Owslebury.

At the end of the day, with each crew's worst three results dropped and the rest to count Andy and Tim emerged victorious.

This meant Andy picked up his third consecutive UMX Expert title, and Tim his second.

In the Junior category it was a different story.

With the series leaders, Jack Etheridge and Ryan Humphrey having a 108-point advantage over the second placed team of Stephen Parr and Jonnie Waters, before any dropped results, it meant that barring any disasters Ethgeridge and Humphrey would be crowned champions.

Before the previous round, at West Meon, the series was being headed by Josh and Dan Chamberlain but after a succession of bike problems, the brothers decided to call a halt to their season.

Josh and Dan have now decided to go back to their roots – as passengers!

Jack and Ryan had a good day and everything went their way and they picked up their second championship title for 2010, having already been crowned Sidecar Clubman Champions – in Jack's first season in sidecars.
