Brit trio hit the great indoors

THE FIM has just released its list of 2011 SPEA FIM Indoor Trial World Championship dates and although the seven rounds include Sheffield (January 8) it does include a To Be Confirmed' proviso.

And T+MX understands that for several reasons it is unlikely that Sheffield will actually be a round.

Sheffield will still very much be on the calendar as an event of course – the top riders are already booked.

The main surprise is that the 2011 series is down to start on November 27 (this year!) in Genoa, Italy. A surprise because maybe not all the riders (or factories) will be happy as expected (and unexpected!) upcoming rider and
machine changes kick-in.

Britain will actually be well represented in the series with James Dabill, Michael Brown and Jack Challinor all in the eight rider permanent list. James established himself last year as a regular podium contender, Michael struggled as have others before him in this brutal discipline – but gets another crack – while Jack is very much in at the deep end, the reward for his hard-earned World Junior title.

The other riders on the list are, as expected, World Champion Toni Bou plus, Adam Raga, Albert Cabestany, Takahisa Fujinami and Jeroni Fajardo.

Expect at least two of these to be on different bikes come January 1 to their November 27 mounts – which complicates the Championship a little.

Meanwhile, we all look forward to Genoa.
