Carter starts Novogar Easter double egge
By TMX Archives on 1st Apr 10

A Novogar Championship double header will feature in T+MX next week after the Yeadon-Guiseley club's Chris Carter Trophy Trial at Dob Park on Easter Saturday and the traditional Lomax Cup Trial in North Wales on Easter Monday. And Sunderland contender John Crinson starts last man away in both trials!
Crinson carries 106 when he rides the Carter in the Washburn Valley, near Otley, Yorks, on Saturday. Ricky Wiggins will ride both trials and be away from his Yeovil home for at least four days on his points grabbing mission along with Herne Bay former Youth champion Ben Morphett and Northallerton's talented all-rounder Guy Kendrew. Ben Wibberly, Dan Thorpe and Whitby's Andy Chilton top the Novogar scoreline after two rounds. The names on the single lapper are Tom Hick, Dan Farrer, Matthew Jones, Richard Timperley, John Sunter, Ben Hemingway, Phil Disney and Sam Clarke. Non-Novogar championship contenders include James Dabill, Wayne Braybrook who won the last trial at Dob, Chris Pearson, Liam Walker and Craig Robinson. The trial fires up at 09.31am. The first ten sections will be in Dob Park, then down to the Washburn River for a couple of riverbank sections. The steep climb up to Sword Point and Les's Rocks brings eight no-go sections for spectators. Sandwith Moor features angled rocks on open moorland while Fewston features climbs in the dense coppice. Top Snowden and Crabtrees are strictly no-go to spectators or crew vans as is Dibb's Farm. Brown's Wood closes the trial with ten tough sections. The best ploy is to watch all the action in Dob, then adjourn to Dorothy Wardle's catering unit, walk along the top wood footpath to the end, and watch the riders fight the legendary Crosser's Rocks. Make no mistake the hot action will be in Dob and Brown's.
On Easter Monday the Novogar series moves to North Wales and the splendid Glyn Ceirog village where John Lyons and his South Liverpool Motor Club colleagues stage Round four with their Lomax Cup Trial. Expect 34 sections, a dozen groups, and a traditional 45 mile single lap.
Pant Farm opens the action, then the long steep drive up the one track road to remote Llechwed Gywn - Liquid Gin in Scouse speak. Moelfre Hall and Pantglas Isaf are the only groups that feature four subs. Gelli precedes the Cwm Clwyd group where the hillclimb will entertain, especially if it has rained. Spring Hill, Bryniau and Heart Break Farm bring the trial to a close.
The Lomax boasts 120 starters including Welsh champion Gary Jenkins, Ben Wibberley, Phil Disney, Ben Morphett and Andy Chilton. Local hopes are on Wrexham's Alan and Aled Price, Gavin Williams and Ashley Jones, both from Llangollen.
There will also be the entire Timperley team, a brace of Darlingtons from Wrexham, Mick Boam, Tom Sagar with father Paul, Bemrose winner Sam Haslam, Guy Kendrew, Katy Sunter, Dan Thorpe, Ross Danby, Chris Pearson, Matthew and Miles Jones and John Sunter. All the ingedients for a great day of trials.
