The ACU Maxxis continues this week with the third round of the British Championship held at the picturesque track at Duns, Scotland. The Johnny Hamilton built track has all the qualities of a GP track and once again the crowd will kept on their toes with non stop action from some of the best riders in the World.
With six top class races it will be these top 70 riders who provide the entertainment for the day and fresh back from the GP's will be Evgeny Bobryshev, the CAS rider who tops the MX1 ACU Maxxis British Championship will be under strict orders from team boss Neil Prince to keep a tight grip on the plate!
Brad Anderson will use the short trip from Newcastle to try to re-gain the red plate and you can be assured "Brad's barmy army " will be hanging over the fence cheering him on.
Scot Stephen Sword will be sure to want to put his CCM on the top step in front of his home crowd, the multi 2009 MX2 champion is keen to keep his MX1 title hopes on track after missing two GP's with a virus. Teammate Tom Church will also be keen to keep it in the mix.
Young Scott Elderfield will be looking to repeat his Mallory performance on the PAR 450 Honda and he was in a class of his own last week at Little Silver.
Finally the fans will get to see factory Aprilia rider Josh Coppins in action. Josh missed the first two round due to a heavy testing schedule in Italy but you can be assured if Josh gets the 450 V-Twin in front he will be a hard man to catch over the three x 20 minute plus two lap races.
LPE Kawasaki were quick to sign Gert Crestinov to ride the 450 KX, and it will be good to see him in action alongside CAS Honda's Gareth Swanepoel, Paul Bird Motorsport's Gordon Crockard, Samsung's Ben Lamay and Pheonix Tools Bike It Cosworth's Jason Dougan plus Proppa.com's James Noble and MVR-D's crowd favourite Carl Nunn and a host of other leading MX1 riders.
As if that wasn't enough there will be fireworks in MX2. On-form Jake Nicholls, who showed great speed at Valkenswaard aboard his HM Plant Red Bull KTM, is the series leader but he will be under stiff competition from Bike It Cosworth Yamaha rider Zach Osborne who will want the red plate back after losing it at Mallory.
Other riders wanting to mix it with those guys are new Kawasaki rider Bryan Mackenzie from up the road in Longniddry, East Lothian, Martin Barr on his PAR Honda, 17 year-old Mel Pocock on a Bike It Cosworth Yamaha, Kristian Whatley on his LPE Kawasaki, Neville Bradshaw on the Samsung Yamaha. Another one to watch is Matiss Karro on the MVR-D Suzuki who has started to show his form from last year.
Add the other young guns and you will witness some great racing.
The action starts at 9am with Timed Qualifying and the first of six championship races off the grid at 12.15pm. Duns in situated in the Lammermuir Hills, midway between Newcastle and Edinburgh and is easily reached from the A1 and A7 trunk roads. For more info keep posted at www.mxgb.co.ok
