Easter fun with WOR!
By TMX Archives on 17th Mar 10

THE first weekend in April, Saturday and Sunday, April 3 and 4, will see the WOR Events road-show return to the Penley circuit, near Ellesmere.
The course is always fun and flowing at the motocross-based circuit as the surrounding fields and hedge rows form a six-mile route that leans itself to being easy going on both man and machine.
As always, the weekend will kick off with one of WOR's popular Race Experience Days on the Saturday with six hours of practice and fun with a mini one-hour race thrown in for good measure.
On Easter Sunday, there will be a Two-man Team/ Ironman five-hour Hare and Hounds.
This format of event is back by public demand. Always well supported, the two-man team event always has a great atmosphere, with jovial banter in the pits through to some determined racing as riders try their hardest to go as good as they can for the ‘team'.
Starting at 9.30am, the event will cater for all levels of ability and classes in the two-man sector as well as two Ironman classes for the tough cookies that ride the entire race on their own.
Riders can share a bike, use their own bike or even use several bikes, just as long as only one team bike is on the course at any given time. A bumper entry is expected.
With live results on screen, trophies to top three in each of the classes and lap times printed and displayed every hour, the action is easy to follow for both riders and spectators alike.
Entries open for this Easter special on Monday, March 22, via the website – www.worevents.com – or by telephone on 07944-378432.
LOOKING slightly further forward WOR will run ‘The Slate Mine Scramble' at the historic Llechwedd Slate Caverns (pictured left) – one of the most famous visitor attractions in North Wales – on April 17 and 18.
Situated in the mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, this new venue will offer superb hard-standing parking in the visitor centre with lots on offer for rider's friends and family.
The event will run in the huge quarries above the village and offer riders a unique experience as the trails and roads in the slates will wind their way up and down the mountain.
