EML's welcome return

ONE of the very well known names in sidecar manufacturers, EML from Holland, is making a welcome return under the direction of Jan op't Hoog. Dutch crew, Thijs and Roy Derks, recently tested the new bike (pictured) and their initial impressions were very favourable. At this very early stage, it is difficult to say whether it was an improvement over their VMC as so much was different on the day. This had not ridden seriously with passenger Roy for most of 2008 as Roy was injured very early in the season. In addition, the test bike was fitted with a 700cc Zabel motor rather than the four-stroke Husaberg that they are used to.
Thijs said: It is a very light bike and therefore is very easy to ride. Changes that we might need to make for different types of track are easy to carry out and fitting different engines requires no modifications to the chassis.
All the parts made by EML MX Products the new company name are manufactured using CNC machinery which should mean interchangeably without the use of a hacksaw and angle grinder.
