THE Hewitt National Cross-Country Championship kicks-off this Sunday, March 22, at the ever popular Chavenage Farm venue. The seven-mile circuit, set in 2000 acres of rolling Cotswold countryside, is in prime condition following the cancellation of the February meeting because of heavy snow.
The level of competition will be very hot for the 250-strong entry this Sunday with some of the country's best enduro riders booked in to ride such as Ollie Moyce, Matt Ridgeway and Rich Warner, along with 2008 champion, Darren Wheeler, as well as regular contenders Jeremy Box, the Wathen brothers, Dave Nuttall, Keith Jenkins, Neil Thomas plus up-graded riders Tyson Maytom-Jones, Seb Dexter, Triss Ball and Anthony Rymer.
The Midwest crew have been working hard over the winter to find some new, exciting venues, to provide riders with a challenging series of races during 2009, and with the quality and quantity of riders increasing it looks like this will be a very interesting year.
