Hind gets a Maximum
By TMX Archives on 25th Sep 08

SUMMER arrived at long last just in time for the final round of the Peterborough Junior MXC's 2008 club championship. With championship places still up for grabs racing got underway at Buttercup Farm MX track. In the Autos Samuel Painter was on fire, pushing Sam Curtis hard all day, and leading the races on a couple of occasions. In the end Sam Curtis finished the day with maximum points. William Cole put three good rides together for third place overall.
In the Junior 65's Cameron Rayner finished his year off well with two wins and a second place for first place overall. Young James Camwell put a storming ride together with two second places and the win in the last race, which was plenty for second overall. Third place went to a consistent Connor Barnet.
In the Small-wheel 85's Max Hind kept his 100 per cent record for the year taking another maximum haul of points. Next up was a superb Tom Painter who is really flying now and will be one to watch in 2009. Rob Colebrook and Lewis Cooper battled it out for the last place on the podium with Lewis eventually grabbing third.
In the Big-wheel 85's it was a four horse race between Dave Howard, Aaron Edwards, Jordan Hind and Jordan Jugg. Dave holeshot every race but faded towards the end to finish a well respectable fourth overall. In race one Aaron and Jordan crossed the finish line inches apart with Aaron Just getting the result. In race two Jordan Jugg led the race until the last lap when Jordan Hind passed to take moto two. In the last race it was winner takes all. Aaron took an early lead with the two Jordans hot on his tail until a both of them went down on a corner to leave Aaron to pick up the overall.
In the Youth 125's Billy King took the win in the first race. Unfortunately Billy went down at the first corner of the second race and couldn't finish the day. Richard Piccaver won the second race and the overall despite a massive get off over the whoops in one of the races. Jack Webb had a great day with three solid rides and a well deserved third.
In the Adults it was all about Lewis Chapman. He didn't put a foot wrong all day and finished with a maximum. Rob Flaherty finished a strong second, with Harry Peake in third.
The club would also like to say get well soon to its club photographer, Dave Stewart who has not been able to attend the last few meetings.
