GRAHAM Jarvis had a beauty of a bike to ride at this year's Tough One. Driven all the way from Italy by two very careful technicians, the Sherco 2.5 was indeed a rare beast.

The rear suspension had been stretched to give more clearance for extreme use while the rake angle of the forks had been altered by the use of a very special pair of triple clamps, which took the angle from 24-degrees to 18-degrees, more akin to a trials bike.
The handling was also improved by the use of a tubeless front tyre and tests are ongoing with a Kevlar rear from Golden Tyre. According to the two factory technicians, these modifications give significant power increases across the range in addition to superb handling characteristics although with such a sharp rake angle, it cannot be much fun at high speed.
This is very much an Extreme Only version of the new Sherco model.
After an early delay when he got water in the works, Graham was eventually forced to retire while running in third/ fourth in the main race after nine-laps.
