It's just two bad for Lewis

WHILE his ARB Tuning Kawasaki team-mate Mark Jones was enjoying a resurgency that saw him claim a runner-up moto finish and third overall at Canada Heights British
Championship round on Sunday, Jamie Lewis suffered injury misfortune that looks set to keep the Welshman out of action for a few weeks.
After clipping a post with his foot during MX1 practice, Lewis pulled in with a suspected broken toe, but decided to try racing through the pain and posted a 21st place in the
opening class moto before sitting out race two to go get the injury treated.
However, on examination at hospital it was shown that Lewis had in fact suffered two broken bones in his foot, resulting in Lewis being put into a cast and forced out of action
for at least a few weeks.
THE previous week's wintery weather and snow overnight, and on Sunday morning, took its toll on Canada Heights.
The track itself got away relatively unscathed after good preparation by the Sidcup club, although it was very tricky to ride, deeply rutted and pretty much one-lined in many
places, but the spectator areas and paddock were turned into a gloopy mess and towing was the order of the day to get the team vehicles into and out of the paddock.
One area badly hit by the gloop was the concrete start-pad which sat beneath a good few inches of mud and made getting traction a real problem, resulting in riders spending a
serious amount of time scraping away the slop from their chosen gate in an effort to maximise traction before each moto. Some with much better results than others.
THE ACU Motocross Department would like to inform Expert licence holders of the small number of places available in both the MX1 and MX2 classes at round three of the
Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship at Waggadon Farm, Torrington, Devon on April 13.
In addition to the senior classes a small number of injuries in the normally 'Invitation only' MXY2 class has meant there are also several spaces available to ACU Licence holders
in the 14 -17 year old age group also.
Any competitors considering entering and who want to fill these spaces should contact the ACU Motocross Department on 01788-566422 or 01788-566404 as soon as
possible.
IN other national motocross news, chief marshal Chris Reeves is on the lookout for marshals for round two of the British MMX series at Whiteway Barton, Kingsteignton, Devon,
next Sunday, April 6.
