Colunists

FOLLOWING the forced cancellation of the 2007 Ken Hall Trophy due to the Foot and Mouth outbreak the Langrish MCC vowed to come back stronger and more determined than ever to produce one of the finest International Motocross events seen in Europe. Six-hundred loads of fresh soil and hundreds of man hours later they have done just that. A completely re-vamped circuit, with better spectator viewing areas and more spectacular facilities have been put in place to create a most fantastic venue for the truly world class line-up that will take in the race, and the furit of their labours will take place this weekend at the famous Langrish circuit.
Ken Hall regular Josh Coppins returns to his favourite haunt to try to increase his number of wins of the famous old trophy to four, but he will need to be at his brilliant best to fend-off the challenges of his fellow GP riders, however.
Most notable is current MX1 form man Jon-athan Barragan on the factory KTM who has been on fire on the world scene of late and will pose a real threat for the win.
British hopes meanwhile rest with CAS Honda's Billy MacKenzie, Swift Suzuki's Brad Anderson, Molson Kawasaki's Tom Church and Stephen Sword, and local boy Jason Dougan aboard the Suso Suzuki.
Patrick Caps and Jurgen Van Nooten up the foreign contingent, while Mark Eastwood will ring the neck of his buzzing two-stroke Honda. Even the wiley old veteran Greg Hanson has promised to show that his incredible talent has not diminished.
The fantastic solo entry list had to be backed up by a top class sidecar entry and the club have certainly not disappointed here.
Riding his last ever race in the UK, five-times world champion Kristers Sergis returns to take on the might of the chairs from home and abroad. These include Jan Hendrickx, Maris Rupeiks, Joris Hendrickx, Thijs Derks and new sensation Etienne Bax.
However, Stuart Brown, Scott Wilkinson, Andy Eastman and the Millard brothers will be fighting to keep the Ken Hall Sidecar Trophy this side of the water.
Before all this action on Bank Holiday Monday, Twin-shocks both on two and three wheels will whet our appetite on the Sunday.
The largest Twin-shock entry ever for the Ken Hall will provide a fitting tribute to this fine circuit in one of the most beautiful parts of England.
Racing starts at 12.00pm both days and the Manor Farm track, postcode GU32 1RG for those with sat-nav, is situated three miles South of Petersfield on the A272.
