Liam 'lands a cropper!

BEING one of this season's hot tips for Youth National success and with everything seemingly in place for a memorable season ahead things have come off the rails slightly for young Liam Garland.
At the recent Liverpool British Super-cross round following a very comfortable win in his qualifier where his pace was looking really good, he entered the final feeling really confident. Gating fourth he soon made his way to the front but in doing so he came up a little short on a jump and took all the weight through his knee. Despite not crashing he new immediately that he had a problem and just crawled to the side of the track.
The initial prognosis was ligament damage but an x-ray the following day also identified a broken bone. Later tests on Monday of this week have however now confirmed the worst. The injury is much more serious than originally thought and Liam will spend at least six months on the sidelines.
One thing that helped lift the gloom on the night at Liverpool was the fantastic round of applause Liam received from the crowd. Both Liam and Dave Garland would like to thank the crowd and the medical staff for the superb support and attention on the night.
