JOHN Mitchell extended his lead in the UEM Quad Cross Cup at the weekend with two clear victories at a sun-kissed track at Nyaregyhaza, Hungary. The first race saw Mitchell swap places early on with French Suzuki pilot Jeremie Warnia, but once the British champion had settled into his pace on the technical, sandy circuit, be pulled away to take the flag by over a minute from Warnia.

Mitchell's ATV World team-mate, Paul Holmes, claimed a lonely third spot.

In the second moto, Mitchell made no mistake, taking the holeshot and pulling a 30-second gap over Warnia and thenmaintained that gap to the finish.

Holmes made a reasonable start in eighth place and pulled through to third again at the flag, battling on with blistered hands.

Mitchell leads the championship after three offive rounds with 139 points to Warnia's 114. Holmes is third on 83points. The fourth round of the series is at Rudersburg, Germany, onOctober 6/7.
