another win!WOR Events staged the fourth and penultimate round of its Motul Winter Hare Scrambles series and the weather really played a part in the day's proceedings as torrential overnight rain left some parts of the Nantmawr Quarry venue in a very slippery state indeed.

The decision was made by the switched-on race staff to run the whole event over just two hours instead of the intended three-hour duration. This was a decision that was welcomed by all come the end of the event and ensured that all the planning and entry limits, decided upon the week beforehand, paid off.
All the marshals were placed in strategic points of the course to enable alllevels of rider to get through the ‘harder' sections, so the race flowed throughout the two hours with everyone having a great winter blast on their bikes.
The course was superb with the fantastic quarry offering hard-standing parking and a brilliant spectator arena for the pit crews and friends.
The sky cleared and no rain fell for the duration of the race which was just so freaky – literally right up to the start and then as soon as the race finished the sideways rain made its presence felt.
Paul Bolton was in sparkling form and is a rider who really excels in these kinds of gloopy conditions. The Sandiford Honda rider was out on a 250cc four-stroke and looked the part from the very off, as he shadowed Suzuki-mounted Jason Thomas into the quarry as they both com-pleted their first lap.
By lap two, Paul was out in front of the rest while Jason was out of the running, as a high-speed get off put paid to the flying Thomas's day.
Moving up into the runner-up position from that point onwards was Rowland Morris (250 Yamaha) with another fine ride to a well-deserved second place.
