New injury for Prumm

KATHERINE Prumm, the World Cup winner of 2006/ 2007, is back on the sick list after damaging three vertebrae in a practice crash back home in New Zealand. When one looks at the injury list in recent years, no-one can deny that the young ladies at the top of tree in WMX put everything into their sport, and the downside of the sport has again claimed the 20-year-old who will race for Utag Yamaha next summer.
Only back on a bike for a few weeks after a broken collarbone ended her challenge for the 2008 World title and saw her undo a long overdue operation to reconstruct a knee, Katherine has suffered spinal damage to T6, T9 and T12 vertebrae after a major get-off over a triple step-down during a training outing last week.
By now she should have undergone surgery, but it is as yet unclear how long ‘KP' will be out of action. But anyone who knows ‘KP' can be sure that she has already pencilled in April 4/5 – the weekend of the first round of the WMX world title chase at Sevlievo in Bulgaria – as her target!
T+MX and her rivals wish ‘KP' a speedy recovery.
