RHAYADER MC and LCC once again plays host to some of the nation's hottest riders when it holds the second of its Welsh Open Motocross meetings at Cwmythig Hill on Wednesday evening, June 17.
There was a good turnout of nearly 1,200 spectators to watch the opening round of the Evening Motocross Series, sponsored by PAR Homes and Bache's Bargains, a couple of weeks back. They witnessed some great racing on the spectacular hillside circuit just outside Rhayader, Mid-Wales.
The Cwmythig Hill course features a massive 65-foot finish-line table-top jump, a downhill ski-jump, wall of death berm as well as the exciting new whoop section.
Three classes are catered for on the night Expert, Senior/ Junior and Novice/ Local Beginners. Each class has three races and then the racing heats up for two Grand Final Dash for Cash' races for the top Experts on the evening.
Heading the list for this meeting is round one winner, Brad Anderson (PAR Honda) and former GP regular, James Noble. Other leading names entered so far are New Zealand ace Scott Columb and his Relentless team-mates, Martin Barr and Jamie Law. Also hoping to put a good display in front of a large crowd are Welsh riders Jamie Lewis, Shane Carless, PAR Honda young hotshot Scott Elderfield and KTM Red Bull's Alex Snow.
The site boasts a full trackside PA system and commentator, Kenny Kay, will be on hand to keep spectators and pit-crews fully updated on the action.
As well as the 11-races, there will be kids mini quad-bike rides, bouncy castles, refreshments, a licensed bar, a tarmac drive leading into the circuit with excellent hard parking and permanent toilets everything for the family to enjoy a good evening's entertainment.
Entry fee is just 5 with children under 14 free. Cwmythig Hill will be well signposted from Rhayader. The first race kicks off at 6.45pm.
See you there!
