Ninety Inn it to win it!

FOR trials enthusiasts, all roads lead to the Flask Inn, on the Scarborough to Whitby road this weekend as the East Yorkshire club's continue to make the East Yorks Two-Day Trial, one of the truly great events on the calendar.
It's a fantastic event as the entry of 160 riders from all over the country testifies. Steven Kirkwood who resides in Tenerife says: "This is the one you come back for.”
Clerk of the course, Pat Galway performs the monumental task of bringing 70-sections and 60-miles of great terrain together over the two days.
Leafing through the entry list, Sheffield's Dan Thorpe appears favourite, but on reading this 2008 victor Adam Milner – returning from injury – will be out to disprove that theory, as will reigning East Yorkshire Champ, Simon Kershaw, and James Carr. Also, watch for the exceptional talent of 2008 runner-up Andy Chilton, now on a Sherco. Add in the experience of Phil Alderson, Dan Clark, Ian Hopley and John Hillam who always mount a strong challenge, and two previous winners, Barrie Darrell, and the unpredictable Andy Cripps and we are in for a great weekend of competition.
Katy Sunter is the only female rider this year, but that will not bother her as she attempts to keep boy-friend Dan Thorpe on't track and have a good ride herself.
Of the slightly older contingent, Guisborough trio Mark Buckworth, Rick Jackson and Mike Watson will be trying hard for the Over 40 award, and that whippet of a man from Rochdale who must be powered by Duracell, Mick Whitlow, will be out to take the Over 60 trophy for a second time.
Good spectator points are the Riggs, Ruswarp and Hollins Gill on Saturday. On Sunday Hollins Gill, Harwood Dale, Castle Beck and if it should go down to the wire results wise, then head for the final run in at Caravan Hill behind the Flask Inn where the pressure will really be on.
Whatever the outcome, all finishers will be winners, but riders will realize as they ride through some of the most beautiful countryside in this part of Yorkshire, Mother Nature is the real winner.
The amalgamation of the East Yorkshire Centre Clubs hope you all have a great weekend, but they do ask you to park sensibly.
See you there and don't forget to grimace for the camera, even if you are upside down!
