Norman conquest time
By John Dickinson on 28th Oct 11

The Hillsborough club stick with their tried and trusty format for the final round of the ACU National Normandale Traditional Championship series at Stannington on Sunday.
There are four groups of sections plus the flight to the stars at Hall Broome, before diving into soggy Ughill where many a Hillsborough trial has been won and lost.
Andy Longden and his team have routed the Hillsborough Classic Trial through four subs in Bents, then the short ride to Spoon Lane and three sections in the
shallow stream.
After skating about on the banks the riders head for Hall Broome then Ughill with a final four in the stream at Buckleys.
All are very varied and if it rains the water levels will be up. Two laps of 22 sections is the baseline.
On the face of it Carl Batty has a wrap on Class A.
The same applies in Class C, where Pete Ruscoe is out of reach.
Not so in Class B where Chris Koch will have to beat Kevin Nolan to be sure of the title.
Ashley Hall leads Class D but is not on the entry list so that brings Mick Thompson and Simon Levett into the equations.
Both have missed a round so the drop score is out. The same applies to Class E where TIm Blackmore and David Lamin are separated by seven points and both have a four score to drop when it comes down to the wire.
In Class F Allen Collier is home and dry.
Start time is a bright and breezy 9am. And don't forget the clocks go back this weekend.
The observing rule is of course no-stop. The venue, Dydson's Brickworks, will be signed from Malin Bridge on the A61.
