Olly Stone: Hard work brings win

What a month it has been. So much has been going on I dont even know where to start.

So when we left off last time I was heading back home home from RedBud where we got a hole shot and ran up front for a bit.

I guess that made Austin hungry for more of that.

We had to ride at press day at Southwick the following Thursday so that made for a quick turn around back in Callifornia.

I landed Sunday afternoon and was back on a plane bright and early Tuesday morning heading out to Massachusetts.

With a little track time on Thursday to get to know the tracks Austin put in the fastest qualifying time on Saturday and ended up getting third overall on the day.

Everyone at the team was so happy with the outcome as after all he is still only 17 and been a professional for only two bmonths.

And to do it at the deepest and roughest track on the calendar was an even bigger feat.

From there I went back to California again and had to turn around two race motors for the following weekend and a practice motor to get back to Austin to keep him going during the week.

My time was limited but wide open and before I knew it I was back on the plane heading east.

This west coast, east cost travel schedule has really started to wear me out, but luckily enough just around the corner we have two weekends off to recharge the battery's and regroup heading into the final part of the season.

Oh did I mention we won the second moto at Washougal.

I could't believe how that turned out. I knew he had a moto win in him we just needed to be up there and that's what he did.

A good start and a little bit of luck saw Austin lead at the end of the first lap and that's how it stayed.

I was so proud of him. Being a rookie and to win a moto in his ninth pro race was unbelievable with such a stacked field.

Hopefully this is a start of more things to come.

One bit of news is that Monster have asked us to enter the MXGP races at Charlotte and Glen Helen.

So we are on board for those races which will be good experience for Austin and will be good for me to get back to my roots.

I can bring plenty of knowledge to the table and hopefully we can be running up the front in the mix of it all.

So the two week break gave me a chance to catch up on plenty of work and sleep.

With Washougal being a day's drive form the shop the semi returned to Corona for ten days for us to restock it and get it ready for the remaining races of the season.

Along with that I had chance to build my race bike at the shop and a couple of race motors so my week was still pretty packed.

With it loaded back up and off to Unadilla it gave me a chance to get the Friday off and recharge because the last block of races is going to be a tough one.

I worked it out that in the next five weeks I will only be in California for a total of ten days.

That's a lot of hotel time right there. I hope there some nice ones.

But with that in mind once it is over it will be time to start planning for 2017 and make some progress on our new bike.

That's going to be a exciting learning curve.

Until next month.
