JH Quad Racing overcame initial concerns over the condition of the new track at Peacocks Hay in Stoke to put on yet another faultless day of action-packed racing which saw a strong turn out of some of the top riders in the country.
The gathered spectators, drawn out by the glorious weather, were in for a treat as all nine classes featured strong battles throughout the field. There were initially concerns about debris on some parts of the track, which was being used by JH Racing for the first time. But the organisers were quick to respond, cleaning up the offending corners before racing got underway.
Hybrid 250cc was dominated by Suzukis with Gavin Dodds coming up trumps ahead of Andy Lawton, who took a brace of second positions. Lewis Burns was never far off and ended the day third overall.
One rider worthy of mention was Tyler Soar. Typically strong rides all day were stymied by a series of niggling mechanical issues which pushed the youngster down the leader board.
Rheece Guest put in a strong performance in Adult A with two wins and a second, while Sam Harrison enjoyed a successful debut on his new 450cc, finishing the day second overall, just ahead of Tom Silvey.
In the Masters class,
Kevin Morris halted Simon Walton's winning streak with three podiums, including a win in the opening race. Second position went to Nigel Lewis with Simon close behind in third.
Oliver Drabble was on fine form in Modified 200cc, but was chased hard all day
long by Ryan Turner. Luke Sanfilippo was a close third overall. The Standfard 200cc group was won by Alexander Thompson with Daniel Lewis and Luke Gilboy enjoying a close battle for the runner-up position.
Irish domination is becoming the norm in Adult B, with Sam Coulter taking three dominant wins. A close battle between Lawrence Roberts and Kieran Power saw the former eventually taking the runner-up spot.
In Standard 100cc, Aled Jenkins won all three races, but was chased hard by both Joseph Ruby and Bailey Edwards all day. Close racing in the 100 B class saw Callum Carter end the meet ahead of Josh Tanner, with Kieran Taylor a close third. Ayrton Radford was on fine form with dominant rides all day long in Modified 100cc. Connor Taylor finished the day second while Kieran Jones recovered from recent mechanical gremlins to take a fine podium position.
A class worthy of watching in the next 12 months is the Shifter class as a number of new bikes join the field. This weekend was all about Alex Rossiter with three strong rides. Never far behind was the battle for second, which eventually went to Adam James ahead of Frazer MacFadden.
A big thanks to ATP Racing who generously donated the trophies for the day to be presented at the next meeting.
