The ever growing QRA British Quad Oval Championship has a new title thanks to the backing of Quadzilla Quads who have become title sponsors of the series which is now in its 21st year.

The championship, which is part of the British Dirt Track Championship series, has seen some of the most keenly fought action in recent years, with 2010 champion Carl Bunce retaining his title in 2011, but being pushed all of the way by contenders Danny Smith, Ben Richmond and Lee Hazelwood. With a fresh breed of young racers now taking up the discipline and with the series moving into new stadiums and venues, 2012 is expected to be the most keenly contested ever, and a fantastic advert for quads and quad racing.

The championship will now be known as the Quadzilla QRA British Quad Oval Championship and will be run over six rounds

British Dirt Track and QRA marketing director Paul Oughton is clearly delighted with the Quadzilla support: "We were proud to welcome Quadzilla on board as series partners in 2011 and now for them to step up to being title sponsor of both the QRA British Quad Oval Championship and the Dirt Track Cross Quad class is fantastic news for us and the sport. Our partnership worked very well last year and we always do all we can to promote our partners and their products and we look forward to doing this once again through the series and at the great venues we will be visiting during the year.”

The Quadzilla Quads logo will also feature on the race jackets the racers will be wearing during the season. Quadzilla sales manager, Henry Maplethorpe commented on the deal: "We are pleased to be associated with the series again in 2012. The championship has a strong heritage and it is promising to see that so many riders want to take part. We are always keen to work with associations such as the QRA to help promote and expand the quad industry in general and it is fantastic that they are taking the championship to new venues and introducing it to new people around the country.”

Dirt Track Cross is a brand-new discipline which sees the racer use the oval speedway circuit before heading in to the infield for right and left hand bends and small jumps in a series of short, sharp, action-packed sprint races. The first Championship event for this is Sunday February 12 2012, with the turnstiles opening at 11am and the first race at 12pm.
