Multiple World Champion, Dave Thorpe has teamed up with Red Bull Elite Youth Cup organisers, Events 22, to create an exciting new project to develop youth motocross talent across the UK.

Starting in May, the all new Red Bull Elite Youth Academy is set to break new ground by staging a number of youth training camps designed to give the UK's best youth motocross talent every possible chance to succeed.

"The UK produces so many talented youngsters that may not consistently stand on the podium every weekend and it's very encouraging that Red Bull and the series organisers of the Elite Youth Cup have picked up on this,” explains Thorpe.

"For this reason we'll be taking the top three riders per class at each of the rounds together with a further two riders that we feel for many reasons could have a futur.

"We'll then be staging a number of Academy days that focus on developing and nurturing their talent, but the message is clear, we want future British World Champions!”

Series organiser Matt Bates continues: "Dave and I have been discussing this for a long time as we're both passionate about creating future World Champions.

"The Red Bull Elite Youth Cup has quickly established itself as the leading youth series in the UK and one thing we will never do is stand still.

"Red Bull has not only given me the ability to develop a race series that is changing the face of the sport, but has also realised so many youth dreams for a huge amount of current champions – the Red Bull Elite Youth Academy is yet another great example of the RB's incredible support for Motocross.”

The Red Bull Elite Youth Academy will be kicking off in May and will be staged throughout a number of dates and venues during school holiday periods. There are some truly amazing plans to visit the country's best tracks with some of Red Bull's greatest riders and athletes.

More information will be revealed after round one of the Red Bull Pro Nationals series that kicks off at Landrake Moto Park, Cornwall on April 28/29. For more information log on to www.redbullpronationals.com.
