ROCKETMAN Racing's Tim Wedgwood has joined forces with Anthony Deacon of top Suzuki ATV dealership MKM QuadSport to contest the 2008 QRA British Endurance Championship with a rider from the new team competing in every class.
The choice of machine for all riders is the Suzuki LT-R450 with the exception of Simon (Porky) Davies who will contest the 4x4 class on the virtually bullet-proof Suzuki 700 KingQuad.
The rest of the impressive team line up will see Andrew Davies in the Pro class, last year's Clubman class winner Lewis Hill in Expert, 17-year-old Josh Chilcott in the Clubman class and 16-year-old Liam Ryland in Stock. Josh' dad Kevin will also rider under the team banner in the Clubman class. The team will also cherry-pick a number of European events to compete in.
"Running a team is a great way of putting something back into the sport," said team owner Tim. "It enables you to support young talent, promote sponsors and generally raise the profile of one of the fastest growing sports in the UK. The promotion of properly organised events and practice tracks is essential to our future given the massive negative publicity we are given every time something goes wrong."
MKM Rocketman Suzuki has secured support from Suzuki GB and Marketing Manager Paul de Lusigan commented; "Suzuki is pleased to be continuing to provide Andrew Davies with support via MKM Quadsport. We are really excited about the MKM Rocketman Suzuki tie up - we think Rocketman's race knowledge and MKM's enthusiasm will pay off in a big way for the team."
