It is with deep regret that the AMCA this week announced that the Association's president, John Davoll, passed away on Sunday, November 20.

John had been ill for some time and had moved into a ‘home' at Huntingdon, near Cannock, recently.

John had been the president of the AMCA since 2000 having served as vice chairman from 1977 until 2000 and was a director of the Association since 1984.

A member of the Cannock club and a keen supporter of the Association, he will be sadly missed from all the work he did behind the scenes at the AMCA Office after he retired from work.

Terry King, the AMCA chairman, said: "I was very saddened to hear of the sad passing of our president John Davoll, who has been a great supporter and hard worker for all of us in the AMCA for many years.

"Until recently, John was still attending meetings and doing what he has always done in his lifetime, be it his time serving his country in the Army, or his involvement in soccer or motocross, by helping others. I am sure all of us in the wider AMCA family will be the poorer without him and would want to send our best wishes to his family at this time."

Sympathies go to his daughter Christine and son-in-law Denis.

Funeral details are not yet known, so please refer to the AMCA website for details.
