2006 European Enduro Champion Tom Sagar (pictured) will be mounted upon a D3-Racing KTM this season having recently agreed to compete for the Kendal-based dealership in both the '07 BEC series and in the Enduro Junior class of the World Enduro Championship.
Teaming up with Tom in the D3-Racing KTM squad for BEC events will be seven-time world champion and two time US GNCC series winner Juha Salminen.
Following on from their successful association with Manxman David Knight, during which time Knighter claimed three British titles and two Enduro 3 class world championships, D3-Racing has once again committed itself to the British enduro series.
Despite Knighter heading to the US to compete the team's two-pronged Sagar and Salminen attack on the BEC series will again likely see them as the team to beat.
With Salminen's participation in the BEC series a boost not only for KTM UK but the championship itself, Tom's deal will see him receive official support from Farioli KTM at all rounds of the '07 WEC series where he will be competing in the Enduro Junior class.
With Juha a rider that will be hard to beat in this season's British Open Enduro Championship, in supporting Tom, KTM UK aim to assist ‘an up and coming British rider further in his international career. In the BEC series, Juha will compete in the Enduro 1 class while Tom will compete in the Enduro 2 class on a 450cc four-stroke.
"Having both Tom and Juha compete in the BEC series this season is great for D3-Racing and KTM,” explained D3-Racing's Julian Stephens. "Juha needs no introduction as a rider that has been unbeaten in the past eight years while Tom is a rider who impressed me a lot last season. I hope that with the backing of KTM and D3-Racing he will be able to continue to improve both his results in the BEC as well as stepping into the world championship with the best possible support.”
