THE sixth annual Belfast International Supercross takes place at the Odyssey Arena this weekend (November 24/ 25), and organisers Events 22 are pleased to announce the complete starting list for both Supercross and Supercross Lights classes.

The capacity 10,000 audience will once again be treated to first class action as former Belfast runner-up and 2001 AMA MX Champ' Mike Brown heads the starting list. Brown will make his CAS Honda team debut on his return to racing full time in the UK for the Belgium-based factory Honda race team – and he's looking forward to kicking off his return in Belfast.

Tommy Searle will also be another rider making his debut on a new machine – Having signed a two year contract with the Factory KTM team, 17-year-old Searle will race in Belfast for the first time in his new team colours.

Grand Prix winners Carl Nunn and Billy MacKenzie will also take centre stage with local hero Gordon Crockard heading the unique format that culminates in one, twelve man, fifteen lap Main Event.

With twelve riders in each class racing three individual heats throughout the two-night programme, the top six overall riders from each class promote through to a combined (Supercross and Supercross Lights) Main Event.

Other riders listed are: Adam Chatfield, Neville Bradshaw, Brad Anderson, Martin Barr, Adam Lyons, Elliott Banks-Brown and Ashley Greedy.

Events 22 has agreed a last minute deal with Boomerang Television and KTM UK that will see the event screened on Channel 4 on February 2 2007.

Organiser Matt Bates said: "Over the six years Belfast has been running, we've really worked hard to maximise the national exposure that ultimately leads to a sell-out event, but if we have any intention of staging a series of events again in the UK, we must firstly position the sport in front of a much wider audience – Terrestrial TV does exactly this.”

He also added: "Securing KTM as a partner to the Television programme is a huge step forward for UK Supercross events and clearly underlines where our intentions are for creating a fresh indoor series by winter 2007. I am exceptionally grateful for Shaun Sisterson (KTM UK MD) and KTM UK for making the TV project possible.”

The Belfast event is set to be a top class show with some great names banging ‘bars for the £15,000 prize money in both the Supercross (MX1) and Lites Classes (MX2). Freestyle MX, Celebrity Mini-Bike race and Youth 65cc races are all lined up for the two-night showcase.
