Arrangements for the annual AMCA Skegness Beach Race are all firmed-up for 2013, with the dates confirmed for Saturday and Sunday, November 16/17, for the races staged on the beach between the tides.

With the first-ever Skegness beach race hailed a great success in 2010, the second event in 2011 was arguably even better and the third...better again.

Event planning for its fourth edition has started and entries are now being taken.

With the local East Lindsey District Council supporting the event and Roberts Plant Engineers building the circuit, the team are all in place and raring to go.

An overhaul to the circuit layout and design will have competitors eager to get out on the sands and racing.

The circuit this year will be fully revamped, including a reverse in the direction of racing, better pit access, and ‘choose your route' split sections (like supercross) for riders wanting to try different routes to aim to come out on top.

The entire circuit will be extended – which should increase the lap time – heading further down the beach,  which already extends to 1.4-miles, providing even more entertainment for both rider and spectators.

Spectating is still completely free of charge, so don't miss out.

This time around there will be a new class and a longer race for the Quads and Sidecars on Saturday, and an Adult Solo class running for three hours on the Sunday.

On board this year for the first time will be Doodson Broking Group which is sponsoring the Quad and Sidecar race.

Still on offer this year is a £1,000 cash prize for top spot in the Adult Solo race – money taken home by the likes of Milko Potisek, Nez Parker, and Nathan Watson in recent years.

Earth-moving equipment will arrive on the beach during the week leading up to the event and a lengthy circuit built to include some impressive mounds, jumps, waves, whoops, chicanes and fast natural sandy straights.

It is hoped that as well as providing a first-class event for riders and spectators, it will generate welcome business for the seaside resort out of season – aiming to top the 22,000 spectators that turned out in 2012.

The AMCA have been working closely with East Lindsey District Council and the East Lindsey Event Safety Advisory Group to ensure that this event can be held in a manner that complements the town and supports the local economy by bringing people to Skegness during the closed season.

Entry fees start from just £65 in the new Clubman class and £90 for the Quad/ Sidecar and Adult Solo races – but be quick, this early-bird booking offer is only available until September 30.

Enter on-line via the AMCA website.

The entry fee includes hard standing car parks and free camping for one vehicle, all within seconds of the beach and fantastic Skegness nightlife, which will ensure a weekend to remember.

Preparations are already underway for the pre-event party at Harvey's Bar, which is expected to be jammed full of riders itching to go racing.

A number of specialist trade stands as well as the beachside food concessions will provide spectators with the opportunity to make a few purchases as well as ensuring there is plenty of hot food and drink available.

Spectating is free, but the public car parks are Council managed and seasonal charges will apply.
