Emma McQuaids rather special Quad was stolen during a practice-day at Tinker Hill, which is only a stones throw away from the family home in Newry, Co Down.

The Quad is a unique blue and white Honda TRX 450 and she had just returned home following a ten day warm-weather training stint in Spain.

After competing on solo bikes for a couple of seasons Emma was making a comback to Quad racing, where she is among the best in the business.

According to Emma's mum Sonya: "Emma's van and bike were stolen and driven out through a back way from the circuit The gate at the adjoining property was locked and secured, that meant the van was abandoned but the Quad was pushed away from the scene.

"The police have been to Tinker Hill and taken away her van for further investigation.

"It is a major blow as someone has had to be watching them. You rarely have anything stolen from a race day because we are all there for the same reason and you would hate to think that it is someone within our sport, but who knows?

"Emma is totally devastated to say the least in that all her money, her birthday and Christmas presents were on that bike and everyone knows that her bikes are always immaculately turned out with that added bling.

"All I can say Emma has offered a £1,000 pound reward for information leading to its whereabouts.

"This will be a major set-back as she was planning on racing in Belguim in July and in the UK as well as here at home.”
