Storming the Castle

THIS weekend is the big Farleigh Castle Twinshock/ Evo/ Pre-65/ Vets meeting (September 5/6) and with riders from around the world entered a great weekend of racing is guaranteed. The event's Guest of Honour is three times World 500cc champion, Dave Thorpe, who will do a couple of legends' laps on his world title-winning 1989 factory RC500 Honda along with Graham Noyce (pictured left), Neil Hudson, Pete Mathia, Rob Andrews, Dave Watson and many more. Thorpe's current team, CCM Motorcycles, are the event's main sponsor and will have their full GP truck at the event. With names like Noyce, Hudson, Karsmakers, Mathia, How, Hanson, Geboers, Schmitz, Prince, etc., the event is stacked with top names and talent. Riders from South Africa, Holland, Belgium, Portugal, England, Southern Ireland, Northern Ireland, France, Germany, Scotland have all entered to make the event an unforgettable step back in time to what many feel were the glory days of motocross.
A great selection of trade stands have booked and many autojumblers are expected to sell their vintage bikes and parts. For the first time in 20 years at Farleigh, there will be a full line-up of Pre-1990 500cc two-strokes, along with a full line-up of Pre-1990 125/ 250.
