Things are on the up

Its good to see that the weather seems to have taken a turn for the better although still a bit cold it is drying up the tracks.
We tested the race bike at FatCat last week. It was a team outing, with Steve Ramon and Nico Aubin over to dial things in before the British ACU Maxxis Champs in a few weeks' time.
I enjoy riding with them and – believe it or not – I'm still learning at the age of 33!
Nico was quick and Steve was smooth and fast as well.
I'm going to do a bit of riding up at Apex this coming week.
Those guys have been working hard to get the track going after the bad weather and it track is sweet and – most
importantly – dry!
My first race is coming up this weekend at Whiteway Barton.
It's the first round of the Phoenix Tools Championship and I thought it would be a good one to kick off the season, with good riders and a good track.
At the first race of the year it's always nice to get all the new Fox gear on with the shirts printed up and the new goggles from Oakley all prepped.
I still get excited about all that the same as I did when I was 10-years-old.
The Dave Thorpe Honda off-road and MX days have been a success over the past month at Ynysybwl, Pontypridd in Wales.
I've been having great fun with the MX training days and our enduro day was awesome too.
Riding on a enduro bike most of the day is hard work I can tell you.
As one of the instructors there is always the pressure not to crash in front of everyone – but I managed to get stuck and crash.
This was at the beginning of the day as well, it lightened the mood and seemed to start off the trend for the rest of the day.
We all had a few wee-offs, let's just say that. But it was all great fun, with no injuries and 12 happy customers, so I'm satisfied with that.
With my first race this weekend, round one of the British ACU Masters at FatCat two weeks later and the off road school, it's certainly going to be a busy month.
Catch you soon.
