Three top days of Reeth action
By John Dickinson on 20th Jul 12

Ten years on and the Richmond Motor Clubs incredible Reeth Three Day Trial goes from strength to strength, as the event takes place this Friday/ Saturday and Sunday in west Yorkshire.
A mighty 222 competitors gather at Parks Field, Grinton, near Reeth and will ride three totally different courses, prepared by three independent Richmond teams.
The end product will be 110 superb sections, thanks to Bruce Storr, Nathan Stones, Andrew Brown and their trio of teams answerable to clerk of the course James Percival.
Friday will see groups at Hurst, Marrick, Marske and the legendary Fremington Edge.
Saturday features Arkengarthdale and Whaw Bridge and Bypass.
Sunday brings Grinton Ghyll, Low Row and Gunnerside.
The views in Swaledale are breathtaking.
The social side kicks off in the main marquee on Friday night, when Anne Sunter caters for landowners, gamekeepers and guests and sponsors who this year include Trial Mag, Harkers Coaches, NLS Contracts, Wiltshire Farm Food, Robinsons Joinery, The Red Lion, JW Porter Ltd. Claytons of Carlton, Andrews Buildings Co Ltd, Norman F Brown Estate Agents and Cliff Addison Drainage.
Expect about 400 guests to fill the marquee.
Saturday features Jamie Bew doing some tricks on his trials bicycle from 7.30pm, then it is into the marquee for The Grand Bike Raffle, which is supported by all the importers, and all the proceeds will go to Scott Charities.
And the final part – who will win the tenth Reeth Three Day Trial?
Try last year's winner Richard Sadler and then consider local ace Jonathan Richardson, on his return to trials following serious injury.
Then there's Dan Thorpe and newcomers Sam Haslam and Chris Stay, or podium visitors Richard Timperley and James Fry.
In amongst them are BenMorphett, Phil Alderson, Chris Pearson, Dan Farrer, Dan Clark, Phil Disney.
Surely one of that squad will be sporting the yellow number board as trial leader?
As for the Clubmen, no crystal ball would help!
Suffice to say Stuart Gaskell aims to repeat last year's ride to head Paul Battensby and Andy
Kearton.
Nick Shield is certain to be in the mix, but frankly the class is a minefield as far as predictions are concerned.
Ladies will see Becky Cook and Emma Bristow battle once again with Lucy Gregg, Katy Sunter, Caz Alford and Robyn Alderson all determined to get on the rostrum.
Or will Katy Sunter's vast experience prevail.
Don't forget your 50-page souvenir programme available for just £3.50 at the start.
