Time to get back to work

Well I dont know where to start this month, its just been full of rehab and physio following my shoulder op.

The first day I got out my sling I decided I was sick of the summer we are having up here in Cumbria and fancied going somewhere hot.

So I flew out to Greece with a friend a few days later just to just chill out and enjoy the sun.

With my arm just fresh out of the sling I couldn't really get up to as much stuff I would have liked so spent most of my time festering around the pool.

I obviously did my little bits of excerices that I had to do every day, hoping to get rid of this slow-moving injury.

To come home was a bit gutting as it felt like we had only been there for two days and not seven.

Anyway, I was lucky when I came home as we were enjoying a few days of sunshine up north.

After my week of fun it was back to reality and I've spent the rest of my weeks at the Red Bull trainer's house. He's definitely been putting me though my paces and hopefully it will all be worth it.

The shoulder is healing up really well and now I can touch my opposite side hip which is a big improvement.

The physio has been awesome. Well, I say awesome, it has been like an hour of hell – but then the next day it feels so much better.

He told me as soon as I could do ten press-ups I could ride. Unluckily for me the time to ride fell perfectly with the Red Bull 65cc MX academy.

So not only was I going to be bad at riding I was going to get smoked by some little kids.

I made sure timed it so I wasn't really on the track at the same time as them and I could watch them ride.

By the look of it there will be some fast kids coming up to race.

I had a really fun day and it was so good to be back on the bike even though I was just rolling round.

The next day I had the opportunity to go riding with Elliott Banks-Browne and Gee Atherton, a top downhill MTB rider, so I jumped at the chance.

It dawned on me as I was driving to the track that Gee could actually be faster than me, but there again I did have a good excuse.

Luckily he wasn't quicker but he was going well and after trying to make him do a jump we decided that next time Elliott and myself will go downhill racing and see if we can do the jumps on their tracks.

I also went to the MXGP at Matterley Basin and had such a good weekend. The track was great to watch as you could see it all and best of all, the sun was shining.

Anyway, I hope to be back racing in a couple of weeks, if I don't do anything stupid to damage my shoulder.

It is so good to be back riding again.

Thanks and peace out!
