Tordoff Netts another win

THE second round of the Nett Quad Championship was held on Sunday at Wooley Grange, near Tow Law, County Durham.
There was a good entry of 81 quads with 17 in the championship class, 28 in the support class with the rest of the entries in the new Junior and Youth classes run under the ACU rules.
The championship class was once again dominated by Ricky Tordoff on his Anderson ATV Suzuki with three convincing wins. Paul Holmes took second overall with a couple of seconds and a third, with Andy Britton riding excellently all day claiming third overall on his immaculate Honda.
The Over 40 championship class was won by Mark Wolfenden who was up with the top lads throughout all the races. Ian Neill was second and Simon Walton third.
Support class saw some good racing with young Ryan Thornborrow getting two holeshots in only his second meeting since moving up into the adults. Pete Savill won the first race from Davey Nixon and David Coatsworth. John Chew rode excellent in the second race to take the win from David Coatsworth. In the third race the roles were reversed with Coatsworth winning and Chew in in second. Overall it was Coatsworth, Chew, and Nixon in third.
The Over 40 support class was won by Peter Savill, from Steve Pinder in second and Gary Tomlinson third.
Wayne Tyson was in a class of his own in 250 Modified and took three straight wins on his KIK Honda to keep his 100 per cent record in the championship.
In the Modified Blasters, Gavin Dodds got three holeshots and three comfortable wins. Andy Lawton was second after getting caught in the gate in race two, with Owen Walton third.
The Standard Blaster class went to Ryan Turner who made the long trip up from Kent with his dad and really enjoyed the Northern spirit. Abi Walton was a creditable second with young Jordon Thornborrow third.
The 100cc Modified class, was once again dominated by team CQR rider, Jordan Corrigan, but the performance of the day came from young Scottish lad Mark Meiklem, claiming second overall. Jamie Swan rode well to come third.
In the 100cc Standard class, Jens Puska took first overall with three wins from Lee McLaughlin and young girl rider Zoe Neill in third.
The Cobra class was won by Lee Lawton from Jack Straughan and Harry Johnson.
The 50cc Modified class was again a one horse race with local lad Regan Carmichael taking all three wins.
The 50cc Standard class went to Sam Williams with Matthew O'Neill in second and young Harry Forster in third.
