WAYNE Tyson made sure that he would ride in this season's MMX ACU British QuadX Champs series by winning all three races at Sunday's Qualifying event.

The meeting was staged by the NORA MX club who are now affiliated to the ACU (not to be confused with NORA Sport) at a very windy Enstone MX Park at Enstone, Oxfordshire, and included two adult support groups, plus, for the first time, a whole range of youth classes.
Terence Mackin got the holeshot in the first of three 20-minute plus one-lap races and was followed into turn one by Tyson.
At the end of the opening lap Tyson was all over the back of Mackin with Mark Roberts tracking their every move and looking to take advantage of any mistake the leading pair might make. Brian Kerr was fourth with Dean Thompson in his wheel tracks.
By the time the race had reached half distance, both Roberts and Mackin had made mistakes and slipped back into the chasing pack as Tyson stretched out an ever growing lead.
New second-place man, James Behan, was having a very uncomfortable race as the seat had fallen off his machine on the first lap. Ouch!
Tyson crossed the finish line 11-seconds clear of a soar Behan, with Roberts making a charge back up to third while Sam Bishop came home in front of John Pilbrow.
In race two it was Tyson all the way as he got in to turn one in the lead and cleared off. Brian Kerr and Mackin chased him through the first couple of turns as Sam Harrison spun out in turn one and Mark Watson did the same in turn two.
As the rest of the field sped by at the end of the opening lap, Mark Watson struggled round with a flat front tyre.
After two-laps, Tyson was already five-seconds clear of Kerr, as Mackin, Behan and Bishop were all engaged in a terrific scrap over third spot.
Halfway through Tyson had a seven-second lead over Behan, who was on his own, while Mackin, Roberts, Bishop, Kerr and John Watson where all hard at it trying to secure third place.
Tyson cruised across the line to take his second win, with Behan second while Roberts won the battle for third place, from Bishop and John Watson.
Again Tyson bagged the holeshot on the re-started third and final race of the day because of a first turn pile-up, but as the dust settled, Dean Thompson's and Geoffrey Sharp's bikes where tangled together in turn one.
By the end of lap one Tyson was where he had been all day – out in front – with John Watson in second followed by Roberts, Emma McQuaid, Kerr, Parry and Mackin all in close formation.
McQuaid dropped out on lap four as Tyson had a 12-second lead over Roberts who was a lonely second, while Mark Watson, John Watson, Kerr, Bishop and Mackin were still trying to get passed the others for third place.
So Tyson took his third win of the day from Roberts, Mark Watson, Behan and John Watson as the top 12 overall qualify for the MMX championship, with the next two riders going through as reserves.
