THE opening round of the Wulfsport British Masters series takes place at Culham this weekend, and it provides the first real opportunity so far this season of weighing-up the championship potential on a number of the leading Youth motocross contenders in the heat of a tough national competition. In the younger age range, the focus falls on the Mini Masters section with both Small and Big-wheeled riders all lining-up in the same race for the first time this year.
Scot, Matthew Fleming, from Fife, aboard the 150F Honda, will start as a real red hot favourite for the Big-wheel title as will the Isle of Man's Callan Cooper, on the Hardcore Racing KTM, for the Small-wheel crown.
Elsewhere in the 85cc section, look- out for good performances from the Suzuki-mounted paring of James Dunn and Sam Winterburn.
The MXY2 section provides a great platform for the older Youth runners on either two or four-stroke 125cc machinery to show off their talents. Matt Burrows, in his first season with the Relentless Suzuki team, together with Yamaha runner, Damon Wales, should be toughing it out at the sharp end along with Jonathon Jones, Luke Houghton and Dean Hakes.
