Youth class for Margate
By TMX Archives on 6th Nov 08

ENTRIES are still available for the Adult Quad classes and the new Youth 200/250cc class at the QRA Margate Big Sky Beach races taking place on November 22/23.There will be three races for each class, each day after qualifying on the Saturday morning. The QRA is also planning a fun event on the Saturday evening on the beach under flood lights, followed by a social gathering in a local hotel with DJ Stumpy at the helm. The track is being laid out with less sharp turns to reduce the deep corners with grading between blocks of races on the main beach. This will make the circuit flow better and with the longer straights with jumps and undulations set out, it will be an even bigger spectacle for spectators and riders.
Tony Nash commented: ‘‘The sand is soft and dry at Margate and we are learning all the time about the layout options with the plant company, Ovendens Plant, who we are delighted to have helping us construct the track once again.
‘‘We are also fencing parts of the track with metal barriers which will allow us to have more track width and options. We want this to be a great shop-window for our sport and a fun weekend for all.''
Special hotel rates have been confirmed.
Action gets under way at 10am on both Saturday and Sunday, with trade stands, fun fair, continental market stalls and much more.
Spectators have to pay the princely sum of zero, zilch, nothing to watch the action.
