Fabien out of UK Arenacross title hunt

Former AX champion Fabien Izoird flew home on Monday afternoon for treatment on the broken left tibia and fibula he sustained on Sunday at the Genting Arena in Birmingham at round seven of the Monster Energy Arenacross Tour.
After being closely monitored by doctors, Izoird – who won the title in 2014 – was judged to be in a fit state to transfer to a hospital in France where he was due to be operated on by his own doctor on Wednesday.
Izoird had just won the head-to-head races to extend his series lead to five points when he came off worst from a collision in the second corner of the Main Event.
"Gutted is an understatement,” said LPE team owner Steve James. "It's just not right but it's racing – unfortunately this can happen. We all know the risks involved but it's the part none of us like.
Fantastic
"Nobody wants to see any of the riders get injured and when something like this happens everyone comes together and supports each other. Riders and teams alike which is fantastic.
"Myself, the team and the arenacross tour will miss Fabien. He is a class act and such a professional rider, we hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.
"I went to hospital with Fabien and stayed with him until he had been through x-ray and seen the doctor where it was confirmed that he had broken his tib and fib. Thank you to everyone for their support for Fabien, myself and the team – it means so much.
"The championship may be over but we still have races to win, more podiums to climb and with a bit of luck a fantastic series to finish!”
James is looking for two fill-in riders for his LPE and SJR Kawasaki teams after American Josh Hansen dramatically withdrew from the series on Saturday morning.
