UK Arenacross heads to Glasgow
By Team TMX on 4th Feb 15
The 2015 Arenacross Tour breaks new ground this weekend with its first visit north of the border when it heads to the SSE Hydro in Glasgow for round six.
The nature of AX racing – short, intense, bar-bangin' races – means it's always unpredictable and out of the five rounds run so far we've seen four winners.
Thomas Ramette (SR75 Molson) drew first blood, followed by Adam Chatfield (CBR ASA Honda), Angelo Pellegrini (Oakleaf Honda), Chatfield again and then Elliott Banks-Browne (Geartec Suzuki).
Out of this quartet it's been the Frenchman who's been the most consistent and he leads the Pro division by 10 points from Florent Richier (LPE Racing Kawasaki) with Chatfield – who missed round three in Belfast – in third a further nine points off the pace.
Ramette's lead would be even healthier it is wasn't for a late mistake in Newcastle last Sunday when he crashed back from third to fifth in the Main Event.
So who's going to win in Glasgow? The simple answer is whoever makes the least mistakes.
Anyone out of the four previous winners is in with a shot and so is Richier and Ramette's team-mate Cyrille Coulon but to do so they'll have to start well all evening and hit their lines every lap.
And that's easier said than done when the gate drops and you're firing into the first corner surrounded by 11 other riders.
