Enduro News: Fast Eddy’s Hard Sel For H2O Extreme
By TMX Archives on 4th May 16
Following a hugely successful weekend at H2O Paul Edmondson has decided that the venue will make an excellent setting for the final round of the 2016 Eddys Extreme Championship.
The new date for the final round is August 13. The venue is H2O near Selattyn, postcode SY10 7PA.
The woodland test from last weekend's Sprint gave riders a taster of what is possible at the venue and combined with the huge choice of hills and the steep valley bottom this should be a cracker to finish the season with.
There is another section that was completely untouched by the Sprint, it is very tough and will certainly be included in an extreme event with plenty of rocky, rooty uphills to bring out the best in the best.
The snaking stream at the valley base was cut from the original GBXC at H2O last season but it looks like perfect extreme territory and is easily accessible for spectators.
Lap times will be in the 25-40 minute region over natural mixed terrain of rocky climbs and descents, through rivers and bogs, over logs and down a new rock garden that could take as long as 10-15 minutes to negotiate.
The event will run to its normal two-race schedule with a two-hour morning race for Veterans, Sportsman and Youth riders followed by a two and a half hour afternoon race for Pro, Expert and Clubman riders.
The event will have a big lap but best of all, it will run in the summertime. The scene is set for a great finale to the very successful 2016 British Championship series, which has already seen terrific venues such as Tong, Cowm Quarry and Helmsley test riders to the max.
For those looking forward to Walters Arena in December there is good news. The Ed's of the Valley event will be running as the first event of the 2017 Championship.
Entries for the final round of the 2016 BEEC will be open soon but if you can't wait then call 01543 370070 or 07889 924560 for details and to secure your place.
