Fast Eddy to run Enduro GP of GB

The 2017 provisional calendar for the Enduro GP series has been released and the big news is that the UK is back on the world championship schedule for the first time in nearly a decade.
The even bigger news is the man behind the UK round is four-time world enduro champion Paul Edmondson and that the innovative event promoter will shake up the format with a radical new approach.
Information is still limited at the moment and with Fast Eddy travelling back from Italy – where his son Jack clinched the world youth enduro crown – we've been unable to confirm concrete details for the first UK round of the series since 2008.
What we do know is that the two-day event is scheduled for Hawkstone Park on the weekend of September 23/24 and will comprise an enduro sprint race on the Saturday followed by a GNCC on Sunday.
Fast Eddy, of course, ran the country's first GNCC event at Hawkstone Park after a successful stint in America where he competed in the US championship.
Having a UK event is an integral part of series promoter Enduro ABC's long-term goals as a spokesman explained when the 2017 dates were released.
"It is one of goals now to be in the main market countries of Europe,” he said, "so to be back in the UK is very important to us.”
After a series of meetings with the manufacturers two new categories have been created for next year – EnduroGP for over 250cc machines and Enduro2 for up to 250cc machines. The FIM Junior, 125cc Youth and Women's classes remain unchanged.
In addition to Fast Eddy's Sprint and GNCC races, the 2017 calendar also features a winter event in Finland on March 25/26.
