Paul Edmondson has set his sights on running a full factory Triumph team in EnduroGP as early as next season.
The four-time enduro world championship winner has spent this season flying the flag for the British manufacturer through his Fast Eddy Racing team.
Speaking at the Enduro GP of Wales, Edmondson admitted running the full factory team for Triumph would be a dream come true.
“I’d love to. It’s British and I’m British so it would be nice. As people know I’m certainly connected with them,” he admitted.
“Once they decide what they’re doing hopefully we can join the programme and have a true British team and bike together and get some championships.”
Edmondson has integrated Triumph into his racing activities this season in a programme which runs alongside the multiple race events he promotes in the UK.
He said: “We’re moving over to the Triumph side with the racing in the UK to support our test programme that we’ve been doing.
“It’s been interesting. We’re basically on a stock motocross bike and I’m having a lot of fun. The team are just getting used to the ins and outs of the bike. We’re doing a lot of riding.
“Jack Edmondson, my son, has done a lot of riding. He’s our main guy, we’ve been throwing him into competition to get the hours on the bike to test various parts. Hopefully long term we can continue with him as a test rider.
“We are getting hours on the bike in race conditions to make sure we are one step ahead of the competition.”
Edmondson first linked up with Triumph when he was contracted as stunt double for actor Daniel Craig in the James Bond film No Time To Die but does not plan a return to the big screen any time soon.
“Not at the moment, no, I’ve just been kind of quiet on that front and focused on the team,” said Paul. “But if I’ve got to get fit for a movie then I’m going to do it.”
