Billy Bolt secured his fifth FIM SuperEnduro World Championship in a row with a dominant performance inside Newcastle’s Utilita Arena leading home Brits Jony Walker, Mitch and Ash Brightmore who filled the top four spots in the Prestige class. Bolt was in incredible form and after topping SuperPole took commanding wins in the opening two races to secure the title. Wearing the #1 for the final race, Bolt got embroiled in a four-way all-British battle that many are calling the race of the year as the leading four traded places throughout much to the delight of the huge crowd.

“It’s been an incredible night here in Newcastle,” said Bolt. “I know I came here into my home round with a good advantage but you can never take things for granted in SuperEnduro. The boys were pushing really hard tonight, especially in that last race – I think they thought that as I had won the title, I might ease off a little. Of course, I gave it my all as usual and was able to come out with three race wins. The crowd here have been amazing and I want to thank everyone who has supported me this season. Five titles in a row is fantastic. There’s still one round to go and you can be sure I won’t be backing down there either, I’ll be looking to finish the series on a high next weekend in France.”

There was more to celebrate for British fans as Fraiser Lampkin took the Youth races by storm – racking up his first maximum score of the series to top the podium in front of an appreciative home crowd.

Sherco’s Toby Shaw overcame difficulties with a sticking front brake to secure fifth overall on the night to strengthen his hold on third place in the Junior Championship with one round remaining.

Jack Price added yet another trophy to his cabinet by winning the Expert class with ease on his Sherco. The current SSDT and Scott Trial champion, proved too good for the competition as he rocketed to two race wins with the incredibly popular Paul Bolton securing second on the night.
