Isle of Man ready for BEC bash

The ACU British Timecard Enduro Championship makes a welcome return to the Isle of Man this weekend, July 7/8 with the eagerly awaited SMCC Manduro.
The Manxduro organising club - Southern MCC - have set a 30-mile lap including two special tests per lap. The special tests will be ridden and timed every lap, no sighting laps are planned and the same tests will be used both days.
The Carnagrie special test will be the hub for the event once the competitors have left the starting area of the TT grandstand with a fuelling point and time check also located at Carnagrie.
Based on the clubs own land the Carnagrie cross country special test will be used for both days and ridden every lap. The second test will be at Magnetic Hill and this will be a mix of cross country and technical plantation.
Series leader Danny McCanney goes into this round as clear favourite, but Tom Sagar - back after his year-long absence - will be determined to go one better after finishing runner-up to the McCanney in the last three rounds.
Jack Edmondson will be another hoping to close in on McCanney, along with the rapid Joe Wootton, ex-motocross star Alex Snow and ever-improving Tom Ellwood. Others hoping to shine will be youngsters Dan Mundell, Jed Etchells, Alex Walton and Fraser Flockhart who will be hoping for some good points on local territory
In the highly competitive Experts class the in-form Richard Ely and Aaron Gordon will take some catching, but you can be assured Max Ditchield and Richard Tucker will be hot on their heels.
In the Clubman class another close battle looks on the cards between Lewis Ranger, Harry Houghton and Luke Thomas who are all capable of taking class wins on their day.
Rosie Rowett will no doubt pick up where she left off in the Ladies class, Nieve Holmes will be hoping to her European Enduro experience pays off with another battle with youngster Rowett. Both Andrew Edwards (Over 40) and Paul Davies (Over 50) will take some beating in their respective classes.
The start of the event is located at the TT Grandstand, Douglas, Isle of Man. Signing-on/machine examination will take place on Friday, July 6 between 4pm 9.30pm.
